Erasmus+ EVS

We are an accredited sending and hosting organisation for European Voluntary Service funded by the European Union’s European Voluntary Service scheme (Erasmus+) Erasmus+ programme offers young people the chance to make a real difference to the world – and to their own life – through the European Voluntary Service. The European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides young people with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country within or outside the EU. In this way, it seeks to develop solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance among young people, thus contributing to reinforcing social cohesion in the European Union and to promoting young people’s active citizenship. Their learning experience is formally recognized through a Youthpass. Participation is free for the volunteers (with the exception of a possible contribution for travel costs) who also get board and lodging, insurance cover and an allowance for the duration of the project. VSI Voluntary Service International (VSI) is the Irish branch of Service Civil International, a worldwide peace movement that began in 1920. They work to promote peace, social justice, sustainable development and intercultural understanding through volunteering abroad and in Ireland. Since its inception VSI has undertaken a wide variety of voluntary and community work throughout Ireland and has sent volunteers to many projects in over60 countries worldwide.image004 VSI hosts international volunteer projects in Ireland every year. In the past10 years VSI have helped community, environmental and other organisations all over Ireland to:
